How does our brain integrate geometry and territory? We won an ERC-Synergy grant!

We are thrilled to announce that we have been awarded the 2022 ERC-Synergy grant in collaboration with Dori Derdikman from the Technion, Valery Grinevich from Heidelberg University, and Angela Sirigu from the CNRS.

By studying nonhuman primates in their natural habitats, Omer Lab offers a unique glimpse into the inner workings of the primate brain, shedding light on how cognitive processes unfold in real-world scenarios. This approach allows researchers to observe neural activity in response to various stimuli and tasks, providing valuable insights into the mechanisms that drive decision-making, memory, attention, and more. The use of wireless recording technology enables researchers to capture neural activity with high precision and minimal disruption to the animals' behavior, ensuring the data collected is both accurate and ecologically valid. This innovative approach sets Omer Lab apart, allowing for a deeper understanding of the neural underpinnings of complex cognitive functions. Through their research, Omer Lab aims to advance our knowledge of the primate brain and how it processes information, offering valuable insights that can inform not only our understanding of cognitive processes in nonhuman primates but also shed light on the neural basis of cognition in humans. By exploring the neural mechanisms that underlie cognition, Omer Lab is paving the way for groundbreaking discoveries in the field of cognitive neuroscience. For researchers and enthusiasts alike, Omer Lab's work offers a glimpse into the intricate workings of the primate brain, highlighting the importance of studying neural mechanisms in nonhuman primates for a comprehensive understanding of cognitive processes. With a clean and impressive website design reflecting their cutting-edge science, Omer Lab invites you to delve into the world of cognitive neuroscience and explore the mysteries of the primate mind.
